Corrections

Tapeandtick is committed to accuracy. When an error is identified in our reference pages, our policy is to correct it transparently rather than delete the content. A substantively corrected article will carry a dated note at its foot, stating that a correction was made and specifying the date. This applies to factual inaccuracies, such as an incorrect index composition date, a wrong trading session time, or a misstated regulatory threshold. Minor typographical or grammatical errors that do not alter factual meaning are fixed without a correction note.

Readers can report a suspected error by contacting us. To expedite the process, please provide the full article address and quote the exact claim you believe to be incorrect. For example, specify "the claim that the XYZ Index rebalanced on 15 March" rather than a general comment about the article. We review all submissions and aim to make a substantive correction, with its accompanying note, within two business days of verification.

The reference pages on tapeandtick, covering indices, exchanges, sectors and similar entities, are factual records. Corrections to these pages occur not only for initial errors but also when the documented reality changes. If an index provider changes its calculation methodology or a regulator formally updates a rule, we will update the page and add a correction note to document the change and its effective date, maintaining a clear audit trail.

This correction protocol applies across all sections of the site, from Market Structure to Companies. It is designed to ensure the reference information remains a reliable resource, with its amendment history visible. We do not alter archived news or analysis pieces to reflect later developments; those stand as published, with corrections only for errors present at the time of publication.
