Ken Villum Klausen, Peter Andreasen and Joachim Strøjer Hansen, former leaders of Nordic digital bank Lunar, have raised €8.2 million in pre-seed funding to launch Repodo, an AI-native audit firm. The round was led by Hedosophia and Seed Capital, with participation from other prominent investors.

Funding Round

The €8.2m pre-seed round marks the first significant capital injection for Repodo. Hedosophia and Seed Capital took the lead, while several other well-known investors joined the table. The funds will support the company’s early development and market entry.

Business Model

Repodo is designed as a statutory audit firm that integrates artificial intelligence from the outset. The platform automates repetitive audit tasks, allowing qualified auditors to focus on professional judgement, oversight and final sign-off. The model aims to reduce manual work while maintaining audit quality.

Launch and Expansion

Repodo will launch in Denmark, targeting small and medium-sized businesses. The founders plan to roll out the service market by market across Europe, building a network of audit clients in each region.

AI-Driven Audit

CEO Ken Villum Klausen explains that audit traditionally relies on manual processes. “AI gives us the opportunity to redesign that model from the ground up - not by removing auditors, but by allowing technology to handle more of the repetitive processing and giving auditors more time to focus on judgement, risk and the issues where their expertise really matters,” he said.

The new capital will be used to further develop Repodo’s technology platform, expand the team and support the company’s launch in Denmark. The founders emphasize that the firm will remain fully authorised and compliant with regulatory standards.

The founding team is listed in the squad page, and performance metrics can be viewed in the stats section. Upcoming events are scheduled in the fixtures list.

Repodo’s approach reflects a broader trend of integrating AI into professional services. By automating routine tasks, the firm intends to deliver audits more efficiently while preserving the critical human oversight that regulators require.

The company’s expansion strategy involves entering new European markets sequentially, leveraging its Danish launch as a proof of concept. Each market will receive a tailored rollout plan that aligns with local audit regulations.

The founders’ experience at Lunar, where they served as CEO, CFO and CPO, provides a strong foundation for building a technology-driven audit firm. Their track record in scaling digital banking operations is expected to translate into a robust audit platform.

Repodo’s launch represents a significant step toward modernising statutory audit. The firm’s AI-native model could reshape how audit firms operate across Europe, offering a blend of automation and professional oversight that meets regulatory expectations while improving efficiency.
