Experian launches credit card app on ChatGPT
Experian has launched a credit card comparison app on ChatGPT, allowing users to discover and compare offers through conversation.

Experian announced the launch of the Experian Credit Cards app on ChatGPT today. The move expands its portfolio of AI-powered financial tools, giving consumers a new conversational way to discover and compare credit card options.
Debbie Hsu, Executive Vice President of Product at Experian Consumer Services, stated the rationale. "Consumers expect financial experiences to be as intuitive as the technology they use every day," she said. "By bringing our credit card marketplace into ChatGPT, we're making it easier for people to explore their options, compare cards with confidence and take the next step when the time is right."
How the app functions
The app is designed to simplify the initial research phase for credit card shoppers. Consumers can ask questions about cards suited for goals like cash back, travel rewards, low introductory APR, or no annual fee. Experian claims the app then presents relevant offers from its partner network with consistent information.
According to the company, the app allows comparison of key offer details. These include annual fees, introductory bonuses, rewards rates, introductory APR offers, and ongoing APR ranges where available.
Michael Coleman, Chief Marketing Officer at Credit One Bank, endorsed the development. "Experian's Credit Cards app on ChatGPT creates a new way for consumers to discover and compare card options through a trusted, conversational experience," he said. Credit One Bank is a participant in Experian's partner network.
The user journey
After comparing options in ChatGPT, users can choose to proceed. Those who elect to receive offers are securely directed to the Experian website. There, they can review credit card offers matched to their Experian credit profile.
Experian members can also view any pre-approved offers they qualify for. The company highlights cards labeled No Ding Decline, which it claims won't affect a consumer's credit scores if the applicant is not initially approved.
Strategic context
The launch is framed as part of Experian's broader consumer AI strategy. The company aims to integrate its financial marketplaces into the AI platforms consumers already use. It has previously launched similar conversational experiences for loans and insurance.
Experian states that combining its marketplaces with AI creates a simpler discovery process while maintaining transparency and consumer choice. The company told Finextra that future enhancements are planned. These include more personalized credit card experiences and expanded lender participation.
The firm is continuing its investment in AI-powered financial services. The goal is to help consumers make more informed financial decisions, starting with a conversation.
